The power of the social networks in SEO

Hi 123 2 WEB Blog readers, An easy way to improve your search engine rankings and drive traffic to your site is to make use of the social network sites.

Social network sites are a great way to get your message out there and a great way to get links back to your website. A good place to start are sites like  Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter.

All of these sites will allow you to set up a home page for your site and will let you set up links back to your website. You can then give status updates and provide links to interesting content.

If you are feeling adventurous you can also set up accounts with some of the bookmarking sites like Digg and Delicious. These sites allow you to add a link to an interesting page that you have found on the internet. You can do this if you find an article interesting, see an interesting offer, like someone's web design ,or for any other reason you choose.

The links from these sites are beneficial in two ways. First, a lot of people use these sites and the links can potentially drive traffic straight to your site. Second, the search engines value these links and they will hopefully improve your rankings. If you are not sure which sites to go for or how to go about getting on them you should talk to your web designer about which sites they recommend for improving your SEO.

Currently 123 2 WEB is on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Digg. Given that the website design industry is quite competitive we felt that we needed to get our message out in a number of places.

We are also currently developing a process for a customers whereby the 123 2 WEB blog sites can broadcast to whichever social networking sites you have chosen to use. So, if your business is currently using Facebook and Twitter or one of the other popular sites you will be able to automatically send a link from your blog to those sites. This new innovation will be in place in the next few weeks and will mean that I can broadcast my web design message to 4 or 5 different social media sites without leaving the 123 2 WEB site.

Cheers
